INNER-CITY GAMES 2002
Just five months after the LA Riots, the first city-wide Inner-City Games were launched involving hundreds of thousands of youth, their families and volunteers from across the city. The initial success of the Games inspired and motivated many people across the country to help take the concept to a national level within just two years. It was an amazing accomplishment in such a short period of time. It was one of the first steps toward a fundamental transformation of the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Steps that would take far more time and resources to fully develop than anyone had ever imagined. And to all of our credit, twenty years later, we have arrived!
